Johannah Dottori – Owner and Hatha Yoga, Chair Yoga and Restorative & Yin Yoga Teacher (RYT 200)
Johannah has studied the power of meditation both in the United States and Brazil. She understands the importance of having a calm environment where clients can feel at ease while exploring the healing potential within. Becoming certified in both Restorative and Hatha yoga at the age of 49 has allowed Johannah wonderful insight in teaching those students who are new to their yoga journey. With over 20 years experience in event planning, Johannah brings Breathe her expertise in providing productive and meaningful workshops and classes. In 2002, she was diagnosed with cancer while pregnant with her second child. Using mainstream and alternative practices, Johannah became a student of healing on all levels. Now cancer free and a mother of two healthy girls, her focus on wellness has expanded to sharing her love of yoga and meditation to all those who come to the studio. Additionally, Johannah is the lead teacher for our comfort yoga program providing access to yoga in the community. Breathe is a place where we can all help restore balance to ourselves and ultimately, the planet.”
Crystal Oliver – Owner & Kundalini Yoga & Meditation and Restorative Yoga teacher RYT 200
Crystal is a certified Kundalini Yoga & Meditation teacher (RYT 500), Hatha Yoga (RYT 200) and Restorative & Yin Yoga teacher, Her passion is helping beginners develop confidence meditating so they can have this very powerful tool and transform their own lives. Crystal served 20 years in the United States Army during which she lived in Germany, Honduras, and Iraq developing a deep love of people and all the diversity the world has to offer. She began using meditation in her life at a time of extreme stress. This was a transformative experience after which she became a teacher of these inspiring technologies.
Crystal is a student of Darshan Kaur Khalsa of Herndon, Va and has studied under Guru Dev Singh.
A 2011 graduate of Charlottesville Yoga School, Brooke has practiced yoga sporadically for more than two decades. Her most influential teachers are Jeffrey Cohen and Andrea Boyd, founders of Jiva Mukti Yoga Charleston, SC and Jennifer Elliot and Tracy Wood at AYC. Brooke has also studied with Sharon Gannon and David Life, Dharma Mitra, Ruth Lauer-Manenti and many wonderful teachers. Brooke returned to yoga over the years to heal spiritually, emotionally and physically. A cancer survivor and “previvor,” Brooke finds strength and steadiness in yoga’s persistent pursuit of the moment. As a rededicated yogini and teacher, Brooke aims to share the practical and sublime aspects of yoga with SLOGA®, a slow-moving Vinyasa class that encourages effort and ease in the full expression of each pose.
Kay graduated from the Karuna Yoga Teacher Training program – Karuna means compassion and compassion is a wonderful description of her approach to yoga. She was introduced to yoga in 2002 and yoga has been a part of her life, in some way, ever since.Kay finds inspiration in others and learns something new from every yoga student she encounters.
J. Robin Albertson-Wren is delighted to have joined the “Place to Breathe” team this fall. She has 25 years of classroom teaching experience, having begun her work at St. Anne’s-Belfield School in1993. Her passion is teaching mindfulness techniques to educators, parents, adolescents and children. She has presented “Mindfulness in Schools – Educating and Empowering Our Children” to many local, statewide, and national audiences. Robin’s training is through Mindful Schools, and she is currently pursuing her yearlong certification program as a Mindfulness Instructor.
